Cuisine of the United States

The cuisine of the United States includes different regional cuisines of approximately 9.6 million square kilometers of land. It developed mainly by the influences of immigrants as well as by geographical and climatic conditions in some parts of the country.

Well-known and popular in Europe in addition to hot dog and hamburger is called the Soul Food of African Americans such as spare ribs or chicken wings, in the California cuisine is Asian and Mediterranean influences, fish, seafood and vegetables mix are preferably used. The southern cuisine relies mainly on rice, maize and poultry. Especially in Louisiana often very sharp Cajun food is served. Currently ( 2013) New York City has over seven three - star restaurants, seven two-star restaurants and 52 one-star restaurants. San Francisco and the surrounding area offers two three- star restaurants, six two- star restaurants and 35 one-star restaurants. In Chicago, there are a three -star restaurant, two two-star restaurants, where 16 one-star restaurants join.
