Daniel " Danny" Gabbidon ( born August 8, 1979 in Cwmbran, Wales ) is a Welsh footballer.

Club career

From 1998 to 2000 Gabbidon played for West Bromwich Albion and moved on loan to Cardiff City. In his one-month loan period, he completed seven games and convinced the club, which Gabbidon took prompt under contract. In Cardiff City he scored in 5 years ten goals in 190 games. So far these were his only Goals in official matches of his career. Since 2005, the central defender was committed at West Ham United.

In summer 2011, his expiring contract was not renewed. After a trial Gabbidon found in the Premier League newly promoted Queens Park Rangers a new job and signed a one-year contract.

National

Gabbidon played 17 games for the Under-21s in his country. His debut for the A-Team, he celebrated on 27 March 2002 in the friendly match against the Czech Republic. On 16 November 2005 he led his team against Cyprus as a captain on the field. The game ended 1-0 in Limassol Cyprus.

Awards

He was elected to Wales ' Footballer of the Year in 2005. In 2006, he finished in the vote on "Hammer of the Year " award for the best West Ham player of the season, ranking second behind Marlon Harewood.
