Deputatsky, Sakha Republic

Deputatski (Russian Депутатский; Yakut Депутатскай ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) in Russia with 2983 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located about 930 km as the crow north-northeast of the Republic capital of Yakutsk in the southern part of there about 1000 m high mountain Nemkutschanski train. The settlement extends into several districts for about 10 km along the little river Ojun - Unguochtach, up to its confluence with the Irgitschjan, the right source of the river Indigirka Creek Ujandina.

Deputatski is the administrative center of Ulus Ust- Janski. The settlement is the seat and only town in the municipality ( gorodskoje posselenije ) Possjolok Deputatski.

History

The settlement was ( besides tungsten, and gold) founded in 1951 in connection with the development of a Zinnerzvorkommens. First, there was a detention camp in the Gulag system. Since 1958 Deputatski has the status of an urban-type settlement. With re-establishment of Ust- Janski ulus ( Rajon ) in its current form - it had already existed since 1931 with its epicenter in Kasatschje - Deputatski 1967 its administrative headquarters.

Due to the decline of mining in the 1990s left more than three quarters of the inhabitants of the place. Unlike many other former mining centers in the northeast of Russia's production will continue to be maintained.

Traffic

Deputatski endpoint is a nearly 250 -km paved road from Ust- Kuiga at Jana. This is connected via a winter runway about Batagai and the Verkhoyansk Mountains with Topolinoye, endpoint of a side road from the R504 Kolyma ( M56 ). Another winter slopes of Deputatski in an easterly direction the Ujandina down to the settlement Belaya Gora is no longer maintained.

On the northern edge of the settlement has an airport ( ICAO code UEWD ).
