DerMarr Johnson

DerMarr Johnson ( born May 5, 1980 in Washington, DC ) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays in Mexico for Fuerza Regia.

The 2.06 m wide and 95 kg DerMarr plays at the small forward position. Prior to his time in the NBA he played for the University of Cincinnati College. In the NBA Draft in 2000 Johnson was drafted in sixth place of the Atlanta Hawks.

After a serious car accident in 2002, his career was interrupted for a long time. After he recovered, he joined the American Basketball Association to the Long Beach Jam, where he played 19 games. In the 2003 /04 season he moved back to the NBA for the New York Knicks. Before the season 2004/ 05 he went to the Denver Nuggets for which he played for three years.

After he started the 2007/08 season in Italy 's Benetton Treviso, he joined in November 2007 in the NBA Development League to the Austin Toros. On December 29, 2007, he then signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs, the NBA team owners of the Toros. However, he was released after only three games on January 7, 2008 by the Spurs again. Subsequently, he was re- assigned to the Austin Toros on January 9. On April 11, Johnson was again a contract with the Spurs.

DerMarr Johnson signed on 22 September 2008 as a free agent with the Washington Wizards. On October 21, however, he was released.

In the following years he played in various clubs around the world.
