Diana Matheson

Diana Matheson ( born April 6, 1984 in Oakville, Ontario, Canada ) is a Canadian soccer player. The midfielder plays in Washington and Spirit in the Canadian national soccer team.

Career

Her first senior international she made at age 18 on 18 March 2003 at 0-1 against Norway at the Algarve Cup. With the Canadian national soccer team they finished in fourth place at the World Cup 2003. In 2007, she stepped down from Canada in the preliminary round of the World Cup. At the 2008 Summer Olympics she came with her team to the quarter- finals. There they lost in extra time with 1-2 against eventual champions United States. The biggest success was winning the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in 2010.
