Robyn Gayle

Robyn Krista Gayle (born 31 October 1985 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian soccer player. She plays for Washington Spirit and for the Canadian national team in defense.

Career

Gayle played for the St. Francis Xavier high school basketball, volleyball and track and field operation, in particular individual and relay sprint.

In 2002 she won the U- 19 in the U-19 World Cup 2002 Silver, well at the Pan American Games in 2003. During the U-19 World Cup 2004, she came with Canada to the quarterfinals.

At age 20 she made on 25 June 2006 against Italy its first of now 44 internationals. In the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in 2006, she won silver. In the 2007 World Cup they came in two games for use. In 2008 she took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing, reaching the quarter-finals with Canada, where they were subject to the U.S. again. In 2010 she won the first title with the national team: When CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in 2010, the Canadians placed first ahead of the U.S., after the U.S. had failed to Mexico in the semifinals. Canada, thus qualifying directly for the 2011 World Cup when they meet in the opening match on hosts Germany. Gayle is a member of the Canadian squad for the World Cup and came off the bench in the opening match against Germany for the second half and thus to their first World Cup match. Since the 2013 season, she plays in the newly established National Women 's Soccer League, the highest professional league in the U.S. Women's Soccer, Washington Spirit.
