Didier Auriol

Didier Auriol ( born August 18, 1958 in Montpellier ) is a French former rally driver.

Career

First rallies denied Auriol in 1979, in the World Championship in 1984, he was at the start. Between 1986 and 1988 Auriol could decide three times in a row, the French championship. The first of 20 World Cup victories, he celebrated in the Rally of Corsica 1988. 1994, he was together with his co-driver Bernard Occelli on Toyota Celica first French World Rally Champion. In the course of his career Auriol drove for the team from Austin Rover, Lancia, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Seat, Peugeot and Skoda. With the four wins the Race of Champions of the 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1999 Auriol is one of the most successful participants of this event.
