Diego Roberto Leal Godin, Diego Godin short (* February 16, 1986 in Rosario ) is an Uruguayan footballer who plays in La Liga with Atlético Madrid.

Godin began his footballing career in his hometown of Estudiantes de Rosario. Then he played in the youth teams of Defensor Sporting. From there he moved to Club Atlético Cerro, where he made his debut soon in the highest Uruguayan league.
