Distorted
Distorted (English for " distorted, deformed " ) is an Israeli metal band from Bat Yam. The band's music is a mix of Progressive, Death and Doom Metal. Across they could be described as gothic metal most likely.
History
Distorted was founded in 1996 by school friends. The band wants in his own words the brutal side of metal with elements of oriental music refine, so bring a refreshing trend in the scene of metal bands with female singer and give a perfect example of the cliché "Beauty and the Beast."
After two demos, an EP and a single, the band went into the 2005 Swedish studio " Underground" and recorded the first album Memorial. Producer Pelle Seather was already known from bands like Draconian, Madder Mortem, Carnal Forge and Diablo Swing Orchestra and the album received good reviews and internationally.
After the first album, the band began a long series of tours. They played together with Edguy, Megadeth, Destruction, Orphaned Land, Epica, Therion, Leaves' Eyes, Draconian and Sirenia and performed at the prestigious Metal Female Voices Fest. Together with Aborted after a tour of Belgium, France and the Netherlands has been completed. The success led to a contract for the international distribution with the English record label Candlelight Records.
Voices from Within was re- produced in the studio " Underground" by Pelle Seather. Unlike the first album, this time worked with a number of guest musicians befriended. In singing these were Thomas Vikström ( Therion ), Lisa Johansson ( Draconian ) and Sven de Caluwe ( Aborted ) on guitar Henrik Jacobsen Bastrup ( Koldborn, formerly Hatesphere ).
In early 2009 left Miri Milman the band. For the already booked appearances befriended the singer Michal Akrabi jumped later on, however went to England to continue education and your career.
The new singer Dor Mazor occurred on 3 June 2010 for the first time with Distorted, when the band played as the opening act for the Finnish group Swallow the Sun.
