Dornier Do 10
The Dornier Do 10 was a German fighter aircraft Dornier -Werke.
History
Developed in 1931, the aircraft was based on earlier designs of Claude Dornier. Originally conceived as a seaplane, but it was later changed to a land airplane. The aircraft was first declared Dornier C-1, as part of the uniform terminology for aircraft type ( 1930-1932 ) but modified on Thu, 10.
Construction
As a special feature the Do 10 had a pivotal engine, which should improve climbing ability. However, not even this was enough to improve the poor flight performance of the Do 10.
The aircraft existed in four series C -1 to C -4, which differed mainly by the different engines. So the engines Rolls- Royce Kestrel IIIS, BMW VI 7.3 and Hispano-Suiza 12 Xbrc came in the aircraft used.
Use
There only two prototypes were manufactured.
