Eastern Australia Airlines Pty Ltd is an Australian regional airline based in Sydney. It is a subsidiary of Qantas Airways and together with other airlines under the brand QantasLink regional and commuter flights.

History

The company was founded in 1949 as Tamworth Air Taxi service in Tamworth and was in flight from the start an engine and a pilot. Shortly thereafter renamed Tamair, they served small towns and farms in New South Wales and Queensland.

After 36 years of expansion and through mergers with several smaller companies, the name was changed to Eastern Australia Airlines in 1987. 1988 acquired Australian Airlines 26% of the company from its parent company, East - West Airlines. 1991 Eastern Australia Airlines of Australia Airlines has been paid in full. 1992 bought Australian Airlines Qantas again.

In 2002, Qantas merged its subsidiary based in Mildura Australia Southern Airlines Eastern Australia Airlines under their name. Today she flies along with other regional airlines exclusively under the brand QantasLink.

Destinations

As of September 2008 Eastern Australia Airlines flew under the brand QantasLink from Sydney to Albury, Armidale, Canberra, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Lord Howe Iceland, Moree, Narrabri, Port Macquarie, Tamworth and Wagga Wagga and Melbourne to Devonport, Launceston and Mildura.
