Edgars Gauračs

Edgars Gauračs ( born March 10, 1988 in Rezekne ) is a Latvian footballer who plays for Torpedo Moscow.

Career

Association

Edgars Gauračs began his career in his home town of Rezekne, in the youth of the SK Blāzma. In the 2006 Gauračs was first used by the association of Latgale in the Virsliga. In September of the same year Gauračs signed a contract with Ascoli Calcio, which had previously risen from Serie B to Serie A. After three years in Italy, where he was no competitive match with Ascoli, Gauračs moved back to Latvia. There he signed for FK Ventspils a contract. With good performances in the Europa League, in which he in the match against Hertha BSC scored a goal, for example, were other teams, including Rapid Bucharest, attentive to him, the Romanian capital club finally undertook these on loan until the end of the season 2009/10. His debut for Rapid celebrated Gauračs against Unirea Urziceni in February 2010. By the end of the loan was followed by five more missions, where he remained without a goal and came back to Ventspils. In his Latvian homeland, he dissolved the current contract and switched to Sheriff Tiraspol. After the first half of the season Gauračs moved to Russia to Krasnoyarsk Yenisei after twelve games he could produce ten goals in the Moldovan Divizia Naţională. In February 2011 Gauračs signed a contract with the Russian second division side for over a year period. As a regular player in Krasnoyarsk Gauračs changed in June 2012 to Torpedo Moscow.

National

Since his time in Russia Edgars Gauračs played for the Latvian national football team. He made his debut on June 4, 2011 at the international match against Israel in the qualifying match for the European Championship 2012, he appeared as a substitute in the 60th minute for the game Andrejs Perepļotkins. With the Latvian selection of footed Gauračs won in 2012 the Baltic Cup and this scored three goals in two games and scorer. In the first game against Lithuania which ended 5-0 Gauračs could hit two and three mark before he was replaced by Vladimir Kamešs. In the final against Finland, he scored the 1-1 draw after 90 minutes of play after the Finns had gone by Toni Kolehmainen lead. In the ensuing penalty shootout Gauračs could not participate because of the Latvian national coach Aleksandrs Starkovs had replaced him already before the game ends against Vladislav Kozlov.
