Edison Award

The Edison Award is a 1960 equipped Dutch Music Prize, the - is awarded annually to outstanding recordings or artists - though not in all categories. It is comparable with the German Record Prize, the Brit Award in the UK, the Grand Prix du Disque in France or the Grammy in the USA. He is in the categories Pop ( Edison Music Award from 1998), Classic ( Edison Classical Music Award ) and Jazz ( Edison Jazz Award ) award.

The Pop Award is part of a TV show ( " Grand Gala du Disque ", " Disc", from 1995 as Edison Music Awards ) awarded. The price is a bronze sculpture by Thomas Alva Edison by the Dutch sculptor Pieter D' Hont.
