Janine Jansen

Janine Jansen ( born January 7, 1978 in Soest / Netherlands) is a Dutch violinist.

Life

Janine Jansen comes from a musical family: her grandfather led a church choir, her mother sang in the church choir, her father John and brother David play both harpsichord, her older brother Maarten cello. Jansen learned after some initial interest in the cello from the age of six with the music teacher Coosje Wijzenbeek. With ten years Jansen stood for the first time in public on the stage. She studied with Philipp Hirschhorn at the Conservatory of Utrecht. She has attended masterclasses with Boris Belkin, Menahem Pressler, Joshua Bell, Isaac Stern, Ana Chumachenco, Josef Gingold, Viktor Liberman and Mstislav Rostropovich. In 1998, she graduated with honors.

Janine Jansen was romantically involved with musician Julian Rachlin.

Appearances

Since her debut in 2003, Janine Jansen is a regular guest at the BBC " Proms ", the world's largest classical music festival. In 2005 she opened the festival with the much-publicized "First Night of the Proms " concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

Janine is also a chamber musician. It serves founded by her in 2003 and star-studded International Chamber Music Festival in the Vredenburg in Utrecht. Since 1998 she has been a member of the Chamber Music Series Spectrum Concerts Berlin. Your chamber music partners include Boris Adrianov, Yuri Bashmet, Itamar Golan, Paavo Järvi, Mischa Maisky, Paul Meyer, Emmanuel Pahud, Christian Poltéra, Julian Rachlin, Menahem Pressler, Heinrich Schiff and Kathryn Stott.
