Egling

Egling is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz- Wolfratshausen with the villages Attenham, Aufhofen, Deining, Dettenhausen, Egling, Ergertshausen, Endlhausen Hornstein, Neufahrn, Moosham, Reichertshausen and Thanning.

History

The place Egling was first mentioned in 804. The monastery Tegernsee possessed the basic rule in the municipal area and occupied the parish Egling. The local noble family of Eglinger, which until the 15th century in Egling is detectable from 13, died from about 1511/15. Egling in today Regierungsbezirk Oberbayern belonged to Rentamt Munich and the court Wolfratshausen of the Electorate of Bavaria and was in the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community. Until the district reform in 1972, the community Egling belonged to the district of Wolfratshausen.

The community Egling in its present form was created on 1 January 1973 by the voluntary association of municipalities Egling, Ergertshausen, Moosham, Neufahrn and Thanning. On 1 May 1978, the municipalities Deining and Endlhausen were incorporated in the course of municipal reform.

Total count 33 places to the community. These are in addition to those already mentioned: Aumuehle, Bull Reuth, Durnstein, owls exuberance, Feldkirchen, Geilertshausen, Goldkofen, Harmating, Neukolbing, Oberegling, Oehnböck, Puppling, Riedhof, Sachsenhausen, Schallkofen, Schoenberg, Siegert Mayrhofen, Sonnenham, Sagmuhle, Weihermühle and Wörschhausen.

After the last municipal election held on 2 March 2008 the council has 20 members. The turnout was 69.1 %. The choice was as follows:

The coat of arms description reads: Under a green sign head, in a golden crown, three wavy split of silver and blue.

Traffic

Egling is in the territory of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association and is served by several bus lines. The nearest train stations to the Munich S-Bahn are Sauerlach on the line S3 and Wolfratshausen and Hohenschäftlarn on the S7.

The next federal trunk roads run parallel to the two S-Bahn lines: the A 95 and B 11 parallel to the S7, the A 8 and B 13 parallel to S3.
