Emil Săndoi

Emil Săndoi ( born March 1, 1965 in Craiova ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. As a player, he played a total of 350 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1990.

Playing career

Emil Săndoi began his career with his hometown club Universitatea Craiova. On September 17, 1983, he came to FC Arges Pitesti his first competitive use. Săndoi spent his most successful years at Universitatea Craiova, where he won the 1991 Romanian Cup and 1991 and 1993 the Romanian Cup. In the final game of the Cupa României 1992/93 he broke shortly before the end of the game after a collision with his opponent Marin Petrache the leg. Because of this lengthy injury Săndoi came for a season not used, but found it back to its former strength. Universitatea Craiova Săndoi stayed a total of 12 seasons faithfully, before moving in 1995 to France to Angers SCO in the Division 2. This company, however, was not successful because Angers descent into National ( D3). Săndoi then returned to Romania and FC Arges Pitesti joined to. After good performances offered during the winter break 1997/98 the opportunity to again play for Universitatea Craiova. There, ended his active career in 1999 Săndoi.

National

Săndoi denied a total of 30 games for the Romanian national football team. His first international game he played on 7 October 1987 against Greece. 1990 coach Emerich Jenei summoned him to the squad for the World Cup in Italy in 1990, where he was employed in the first game against the Soviet Union. In 1993, he completed his last international match.

Coaching career

After Săndoi had already worked in his last active season as an assistant coach of Universitatea Craiova, he became head coach in the following season. After he had kept the team in the season 1999/2000 before the descent and reached the final of the Romanian Cup with her, Săndoi was promoted to vice president of the association in 2000. In 2001 the opportunity arose to take over the team of Pandurii Târgu Jiu, which was playing in Divizia B, . Still in the 2001/ 02 season Săndoi Târgu Jiu turned his back to once again take over Universitatea Craiova. In 2003, Săndoi but again after Târgu Jiu, where he first ascended in the club's history in the Divizia A 2005.
