Émile Georget

Émile Georget ( born November 21, 1881 in Bossay -sur- Claise, † April 16, 1960 in Chatellerault ) was a French cyclist.

Emile Georget was one of the most successful French racing cyclist before the First World War. In 1910 he became French champion in the road race, 1910 and 1912, he won Bordeaux - Paris 1911 Paris-Brest- Paris.

Nine times Georget started in the Tour de France five times he was able to place in the overall ranking in the top ten: In 1905, he finished fourth, fifth in 1906, 1907 and 1911, third in 1914 and sixth. He was the first driver who decided in 1911 the legendary climb to the Col du Galibier in itself.

At the Tour 1906, Émile Georget was placed in front of his older brother Léon Georget, who was eighth, and with whom he won the 1906 Six Days of Toulouse.
