Petit Ependes

Ependes (? Freiburg Patois Epindè / i ) is a municipality in the District de la Sarine ( German: Sarine district) of the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. The former German place name Spinz is no longer used today.

Geography

Ependes lies 750 m above sea level. Level, 6 km south of the capital of the canton of Fribourg (air line). The village stretches a scenic location on a ridge on the northern slope of the Bois d' amont, east of the Sarine trench in the pre-Alpine hills, in Fribourg plateau.

History
