Eric Regan

Eric Regan (born 20 May 1988 in Ajax, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since the summer of 2013 at the Nippon Paper Cranes of the Asia League Ice Hockey under contract.

Career

Eric Regan began his active career as a hockey player in the 2004/05 season with the Erie Otters in the top junior league Ontario Hockey League. Already in his debut season, the defender was an integral part of the team and was in a total of 67 games in use, in which he scored four points scorer. In the following season, Regan moved within the Ontario Hockey League and joined the Oshawa Generals on. In the following years he improved his yield points and occurred mainly as a template donor in appearance, besides, he also received more penalty minutes. After he was drafted by any franchise, the defensive player signed in September 2008 together with the attacker Maxime Macenauer a limited three-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

He spent the following season with the Iowa Chops, the former farm team of the Anaheim Ducks, in the American Hockey League, scoring the team from Des Moines to the regular forces. After the team has been ruled out for the season 2009/10 from the game, Regan stood for most of the season with the Bakersfield Condors in the ECHL in use. In the same season the defender also completed five games for the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League, where he remained no points. The 2010/11 season he joined the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL, but after a few uses it was released to the Elmira Jackals, another farm team of the Anaheim Ducks, in the ECHL. There he was a key performer in spite of a negative plus / minus balance and convinced as last year in Bakersfield again by his offensive qualities. Regan, who was the fourth best scorer of the Jackals in the regular season, was awarded in April 2011 as ECHL Defenseman of the Year. Previously, the defender had already been elected to the First All -Star Team of the ECHL.

In June 2011, Regan signed a one-year contract with the Hannover Scorpions of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. In the season 2011/12 he could for the Lower Saxony due to a multi-week injury lay-off and a lock of six will contest only 33 games in which he scored 14 points scorer. His contract with the Hannover Scorpions was extended by one year in June 2012. Following the sale of DEL license of the Scorpions at the Schwenningen Wild Wings this contract, however, was invalid. This was followed by the move to the Nippon Paper Cranes, a team of Kushiro in northern Japan. There the Canadians for at least one year in the Asia League Ice Hockey will be active.
