Eric Washington

Eric Maurice Washington ( born March 23, 1974 in Pearl, Mississippi ) is a retired American professional basketball player who is used to the position of the point guards and most recently was active for the Nuremberg BC in the second basketball league ProB.

Career

Washington began his studies in 1993 at the renowned University of Alabama, having previously passed the high school in his hometown of Pearl. In his college career, he played a total of 112 games and was in the 1995/96 season with 18.6 points per game statistically, even the most successful player in the NCAA.

After his college years he volunteered at the NBA Draft in 1997 and was drafted to 47.Stelle of the Orlando Magic, which then transferred him to the Denver Nuggets. For this Washington denied in two years a total of 102 games in which he scored 6.9 points per game. Then it took his married family man to Europe, where he first went to basket hunt for AO Dafni Athens in Greece, and then two years for the baskets from Rimini in Italy. There was a brief involvement with the Israeli first division team Hapoel Jerusalem, where he came to three inserts in the ULEB Cup, but then by the newly committed at that time, today the Russian national player Kelly McCarty was ousted. Then he returned to the U.S., where he total of 45 games in the CBA came for the Idaho Stampede during the 2005 /06 for use before moving to Finland, where he spent the last five years running. During this time Washington played for three different clubs and has always been considered one of the best players in the league, so he was among others named to the " 1st Division Player of the Year" in 2009. With his last club in Finland, the KTP Kotka Baskets, he reached the semifinals of the playoffs.

On 9 July 2010, the Nuremberg BC announced the quite surprising change Washington in the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga ProB. In his previous clubs ever used on the guard positions, he should close there with a height of 1.93 m, the gap on the wing position ( small forward ). When adjusted itself not a success, the contract was finally resolved in early 2011 ahead of schedule.
