1997 NBA draft
The NBA Draft 1997 was conducted on 25 June 1997 in Charlotte, North Carolina. In two rounds each 29 players from NBA teams were selected. The Washington Wizards, however, had to renounce their Erstrundenpick as compensation for the contract with free agent Juwan Howard in 1996.
In the first place, Tim Duncan was selected by the San Antonio Spurs.
