2007 NBA draft
The NBA Draft 2007 was conducted on 28 June 2007 at Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York. In two rounds of the 30 NBA teams were able to secure the rights to the 60 most talented young players.
The order of the draft is determined by the draft lottery, which will be held on 22 May 2007. In the lottery, only the 14 teams are represented, which are not able to qualify for the play- offs in the 2006/07 season. The position of the remaining 16 teams is determined by their performance in the regular season.
All players who wish to register for the draft, regardless of nationality, must have been born before 31 December 1988. Americans must also be at least one year after their high school graduation.

The final draft order for the positions 1 to 14 was determined on 22 May 2007 by the Draft Lottery. The 14 teams that failed to qualify for the playoffs to take part in this weighted lottery and be set in reverse order of the table of the regular season. Here, the worst team last season (Memphis Grizzlies ) is on the first place and had a 25% chance of winning the lottery and the best of 14 not qualified for the playoffs teams (Los Angeles Clippers ) is in 14th place and had a chance of 0.5%. Should a team have purchased one of these 14 draft picks by transfer, placement applies to the seedings in the draft lottery and the draft sequence continues in the regular season of the original owner of the respective draft pick. The three winners of the lottery take in the final draft sequence of one of the first three places. The remaining eleven teams arrange themselves according to the order of the set list behind it.
