Erich Kühnhackl

Mike Nash ( born October 17, 1950 in Citice, Czechoslovakia ) is a former German professional ice hockey player (nicknamed " closet Sled " ), former coach of the German national team and Vice President of the German Ice Hockey Federation.

Career

Kühnhackl came with his parents shortly after the invasion of Warsaw Pact troops in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in 1968 to Landshut and continued his already begun at HC Banik Sokolov career as a hockey player with the EV Landshut continued. In 1976, he moved to Cologne EC for three years and then returned to the EV Landshut. 1985 to 1987, he completed two seasons with Swiss club EHC Olten, before he again returned to the EV Landshut, where he in 1989 his career as a player ended, to be assistant coach.

Together with its Landshut players Alois Schloder and Klaus Auhuber he succeeded with the German national team winning the bronze medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament in Innsbruck in 1976. Since 16 October 2008 he has been Vice- President of the German Ice Hockey Federation. In addition to this position, he acts since 1 July 2009, in addition as sports director at youth and youth at the Frankfurt Lions.

Kühnhackl earned contributions to the Landshut ice hockey and so did the name of the city known nationwide. After his playing career, he remained connected to the hockey as a coach. Coach stations were, inter alia,

Kühnhackl is married and lives with his wife and three children in Landshut. His youngest son, Tom Kühnhackl (* 1992) is also professional hockey player and plays for the Niagara Ice Dogs in the OHL.

In addition to his coaching career, he is the namesake of the Erich - Kühnhackl Foundation, whose purpose is the encouragement of junior teams.
