Ernst Kyburz

Ernst Kyburz (* August 14, 1898, † 16 October 1983) was a Swiss chair and wrestler. He won a gold medal in the middleweight division at the Summer Olympic Games in 1928 in Amsterdam.

In Amsterdam Ernst Kyburz defeated, who came from the canton of Bern, T. Bolger, Australia, A. Praeg, South Africa, Ralph Hammonds, USA and Donald Stockton from Canada. Ernst Kyburz was founded in 1931 in Budapest and European champion in free style at middleweight. He defeated Hans Stiedl from Austria, Joseph van Opstal from Belgium, Jean Jourlin from France, Kyosti Luukko from Finland and Peter Glavanov from Hungary.

Ernst Kyburz was very long active. Yet in 1937 he was in Bern in the Swiss national team, which played an international match against Germany. He lost it in the light heavyweight (then to 87 kg body weight) against Paul Böhmer.

In addition, Ernst Kyburz was also an outstanding Swiss vibrator. He was among others the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival 1926 at the final bout it, the draw ended at Ernst Hagmann - he had to settle finally the Fourth Final Rank. The second Kilchberg wrestling 1932, he finished second - but was not present at the final transition.
