Estonian parliamentary election, 1992

The parliamentary elections in Estonia in 1992 was held on Sunday 20th September 1992. It was the choice for the 7th Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia and also the first free parliamentary elections, which took place in the newly independent Estonia since 1991.

Electoral system

It seats 101 were determined in the Estonian Parliament for a term of three years. For the authorized parties was a five-percent electoral threshold. Was selected by proportional representation.

Election result

Election winner was the block "Fatherland". He took 22.0 percent of the vote and thereby received 29 seats in parliament. In second place ended up with 13.6 percent of the block "Safe Home ". Third strongest force was the block "Popular Front" with 12.3 percent.
