Ezhou

Ezhou (Chinese鄂州 市/鄂州 市, pinyin Ezhou Shì ) is a prefecture-level city in eastern China's Hubei province. The administrative area of the city covers an area of 1,505 km ² and has approximately 1.06 million inhabitants ( end of 2003).

Administrative Divisions

At county level, Ezhou is composed of three municipalities. These are:

• Municipality Echeng (鄂 城区), 520 km ², 610,000 inhabitants, center, seat of the city government;
• Municipality Liangzihu (梁子湖 区), 525 km ², 180,000 inhabitants;
• City District Huarong (华容 区), 460 km ², 270,000 inhabitants.
