Felino

Felino is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8776 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Parma, in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located approximately 13.5 kilometers southwest of Parma at the Baganza ( a tributary of Parma as tributary of the Po). The municipality is part of the Parco Naturale dei Boschi di Carrega regional.

History

Historically significant is the mounting system whose origin is due to the buildings in the 9th century. The first mention of this attachment dated to the year 1140. Today in the fortress resides the salami Museum (Museo del salame di Felino ).

Felino has a partnership with the French community Cumières in Marne.

Economy and Transport

In Felino there are several meat processing companies, among others, the Fiorucci SpA here a production site for Parma ham.

Sports

1991 was Felino stage stop at the Giro d'Italia.
