Fortunes of Captain Blood

Love under black sails is an American pirate film directed by Gordon Douglas from 1950, based on the 1922 novel, Peter Blood Odyssey by Rafael Sabatini.

Action

Dr. Peter Blood, an Irish physician, who was arrested during the Monmouth rebellion, because he had supplied a wounded Irish rebels. It is sold as a slave to the West Indies. He manages to escape and is captain of the ship " Avenger ". He and his sailors to be dreaded pirates who preferred Spanish ships to board and plunder.

Sabatini's novel served as the basis for several films. As early as 1924 J.
