Freedom and Solidarity Party

The Party of Freedom and Solidarity ( Turkish Özgürlük ve Dayanisma Partisi, ODP ) is a revolutionary, anti-capitalist and socialist party in Turkey. It represents the concept of libertarian socialism as one of the few parties in the world.

The ODP is the result of a merger of Devrimci Yol follow-up project Geleceği Birlikte Kuralım (GBK ) and the Birleşik Sosyalist Partisi (BSP ), which, in turn, a merger among others former members of the TIP and other formerly pro-Soviet parties and members of other left-wing groups such as Türkiye ve Kuzey Kürdistan Kurtuluş Örgütü and Yeni Yol, was in 1996.

In the 1999 parliamentary elections the party got only 0.8 % of the vote, falling well below the ten-percent electoral threshold. In the county elections of 2004, however, the ODP was able to move in the parliaments of the provinces of Artvin and Yozgat. Internationally, it is a member of the European Anti -Capitalist Left and since 2007 a ​​full member of the European Left Party.
