8 (also known as IA -8) Intelsat Americas is a communications satellite of the International Telecommunications Satellite Consortium ( Intelsat ). He was promoted on June 23, 2005 aboard a rocket of the type Zenit 3SL from a floating grid position in the orbit. He is the first Intelsat satellite whose coverage area covers the whole North American continent.
Americas 8 provides capacity for the TV and radio reception as well as for telecommunications, Internet and multimedia services.
Reception
The reception of Americas 8 is possible in North America, Alaska, Hawaii, South America and the Caribbean. The transfer is done in C, Ku, and Ka-band.
