Galma Koudawatche

Galma Koudawatché (short: Galma ) is a rural municipality in the Department Madaoua in Niger.

Geography

Galma Koudawatché is located at the junction of Great Landscape Sudan Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Tama in the northwest, Azarori in the northeast, Madaoua the southeast, Sabon Guida in the south and Doguérawa in the West. The municipality is divided into 21 administrative villages, eight traditional villages and 26 hamlets. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Galma Koudawatché (also: Galma sédentaire ).

History

The rural community Galma Koudawatché was founded in 2002 at a nationwide administrative reform a part of the canton Madaoua forth.

Population

At the 2001 census Galma Koudawatché had 33,965 inhabitants. For the year 2010 45.764 inhabitants were calculated.

Culture and sights

In the administrative village in the municipality of Goge Galma Koudawatché there is a room with snakes, for every seventh lunar month for a ram.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality is located in that narrow zone along the border with Nigeria, ranging from Tounouga in the west to the east Malawa and operated in irrigated crop production for cash crops. In Galma Koudawatché belonging to administrative village Magaria - Makera one is located three tanneries in the Tahoua region. The other two are in the Tahoua region's capital and in the rural community Tamaské.
