Ganterschwil

Ganterschwil was until December 31, 2012, a municipality in the constituency Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. On January 1, 2013, it merged with the new community Bütschwil Bütschwil - Ganterschwil.

Geography

Ganterschwil borders west to Bütschwil, north to Lutisburg, east and south of Necker to Oberhelfenschwil. The former municipal boundary is formed on three sides by the rivers Thur and Necker, only from the south can be achieved without Ganterschwil bridge crossing.

History

On November 27, 2011, a vote on a municipal merger from 1 January 2013 took place in Bütschwil and Ganterschwil. Already on September 26, 2010 the voters of the political communities Bütschwil and Ganterschwil had agreed in a landmark vote the introduction of the association process. The vote was adopted in Bütschwil with a yes - share of 82 %, in Ganterschwil the share of votes amounted to 54%. The new church 's Name Bütschwil - Ganterschwil.

Economy

Attractions
