George DiCarlo

George DiCarlo ( born July 13, 1963 in Saint Petersburg, Florida ) is a retired American swimmer.

He won at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles gold in the 400m and silver above 1500 m freestyle. In his Olympic victory, he benefited from the fact that the German Thomas Fahrner not qualified for the finals. Fahrner swam but then in the B-Final faster than DiCarlo in his Olympic victory.
