Geography and transport

Gersdorf located in a valley along the course of Hege creek. Gersdorf is bordered by the cities Oberlungwitz in the north, and Oelsnitz Lugau the south and east and scorn village in the West. On the southern border of the town begins the Erzgebirge, the community itself is located in the Erzgebirge Basin.

History

Gersdorf was founded around the year 1169 as a typical Waldhufendorf.
