Geography
Adjacent communities are light pine and the cities of Kirchberg, Wilkau- Haßlau and Zwickau in Zwickau district and Heinsdorfergrund and the city Lengenfeld in Vogtland. The municipality is located in the western Erzgebirge. By Hirschfeld and Voigtsgrün streams that flow at Niedercrinitz in the Crinitzer water flow.

Hirschfeld and Niedercrinitz were demonstrated from 1606 to the Official Zwickau and from 1764 to the Official Wiesenburg, which was renamed in 1843 in Kirchberg Office. 1856 came both places to the court office Kirchberg and belonged since 1875 to Amtshauptmannschaft Zwickau, whose successor the district Zwickau. 1912 Hirschfelder district Lauterholz was umgemeindet after Lauterhofen.
Voigtsgrün belonged to the Official Zwickau and came in 1856 to the court office Kirchberg and 1875 to Amtshauptmannschaft Zwickau. 1950 Voigtsgrün was incorporated into Hirschfeld.
Niedercrinitz was incorporated into Hirschfeld 1998.

The district Voigtsgrün is just off the motorway junction Zwickau -West ( junction 10 ), the A 72 Niedercrinitz After a resting place on the A 72 was named. Furthermore, in Voigtsgrün holds Vogtlandbahn on the way from Zwickau to Klingenthal. The districts Hirschfeld and Voigtsgrün received in the course of the construction of a feeder road (Central line ) a bypass, which was released on 11 September 2008 for the traffic.
Public institutions
In the district Voigtsgrün is the Tierpark Hirschfeld. Hirschfeld has a primary school and a school for the mentally handicapped.
Religions
The Lutheran. Michaelis church Hirschfeld forms a parish with the church in the neighboring Ebersbrunn. The parish Niedercrinitz belongs with the neighboring Culitzsch to Michaelis church Wilkau- Haßlau.
Personalities
- Gottlob Leberecht Schulze (1779-1856), theologian and educator, was born in Hirschfeld
- Oswald Bleier (1889-1936), politician ( KPD), anti-fascist resistance fighters and 1926-1929 Member of the Landtag of Saxony
- Heini Scheffler, illustrator and cartoonist for the Free Press, lived for several years in Niedercrinitz.
