Gömeç

Gömeç is a town and a district of the Turkish province of Balıkesir. The city is located about 95 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Balıkesir on the Gulf of Edremit.

The district is located in the southwest of the province on the southern shore of the Aegean Sea belonging to the Gulf of Edremit. It is bordered to the north by Burhaniye, on the southeast by the province of Manisa, in the south of Ayvalik and to the west by the Aegean coast. The city is located on the European road 87, which further leads to Antalya coming from Çanakkale Edirne on over Izmir and Denizli. For district includes the island lying off the coast Çiçek Adası.
