Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec is a Canadian cycling race.

The one-day race was held for the first time on September 10, 2010. Premiere winner was Frenchman Thomas Voeckler.

The race was just like two days later held the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal in the first year in hosting the UCI ProTour ( since 2011: UCI World Tour ) was added. It is next to the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal, the Tour Down Under and the Tour of Beijing, the only World Tour race outside Europe. As with all World Tour race the UCI ProTeam are entitled and obliged to start.

Route

The 12.6 km long course runs through Quebec will sail a total of 15 times. On each of the 15 rounds of the 375 meters and an average of 10% steep " Cote de la Montagne " ( at kilometer 9) and the 9% steep " Cote de la potasse " are to be mastered (Km 11). The course starts near the fortress of Quebec and performs after a few kilometers to the St. Lawrence River. From there the route on the slopes leading back towards the fortress.
