2014 UCI World Tour

The UCI World Tour 2014 includes 29 cycling races, including the three -week tour Tour de France, Giro d' Italia and Vuelta a España ( Grand Tours), as well as major cycling classics, including the five monuments of cycling Milan - Sanremo, Tour of Flanders, Paris - Roubaix, Liege -Bastogne- Liège and Giro di Lombardia. The competitions will take place from January to October 2013. In each race ( one-day races ) or the stage and overall standings ( stage race ) were awarded points for finishing position, which were offset to world rankings for drivers, teams and nations.

Participants are particularly licensed ProTeam. In addition, Professional Continental teams may be invited by the respective organizers of a race. In some competitions such as the Tour Down Under in Australia or the Tour of Poland also a national team of the host country is eligible to participate.

Scoring

In the UCI World Tour ranking points as follows will be awarded for the UCI World:

  • Category 1: Tour de France
  • Category 2: Giro d' Italia, Vuelta a España
  • Category 3: Monuments of cycling, remaining eleven stage race
  • Category 4: Rest of the nine -day race

The team standings and national rankings are determined by the points of the 5 best riders of each team and each nation will be added. Additional points get teams who finish in the team time trial of UCI Road World Championships 2014 in the top ten.
