Guillaume Desbiens

Guillaume Desbiens ( born April 20, 1985 in Alma, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2013 when the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Guillaume Desbiens began his career as a hockey player with the Huskies de Rouyn -Noranda, where he was active from 2001 to 2005 in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the fourth round as a total of 116 players from the Atlanta Thrashers. In the 2005/06 season the winger played mostly for Atlanta's farm team Gwinnett Gladiators in the ECHL, scoring a total of 82 games 43 goals and 33 templates. In the playoffs, he failed with his team until the final of the Kelly Cup to the Alaska Aces. In addition, he played three games during the season for Gwinnetts Partners Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League. The Chicago Wolves and spent the majority of the following two seasons, and he won with the team from Illinois in the 2007/ 08 season the Calder Cup.

After Desbiens ' contract with the Atlanta Thrashers was disbanded, he signed on 15 December 2008, the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, with which he defeated the Hershey Bears at the end of the season 2008/ 09 until the playoff final for the Calder Cup. In July 2009, the Canadian was also required as a free agent by Manitoba Partners Vancouver Canucks, for whom he occasionally came in the following two seasons in the National Hockey League action, while otherwise as a regular player for the Manitoba Moose in the AHL on the ice stood.

On July 4, 2011 Desbiens signed a Zweiwegvertrag for one year at the Calgary Flames. His only season in the organization of the Calgary Flames winger spent mainly at their AHL farm team Abbotsford Heat and was there with Joe Piškula in the function of assistant captain active. When the contract in July 2012 Desbiens returned to the organization of the Vancouver Canucks, who provided the Canadians with a one-year contract.

In July 2013 Desbiens signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche.
