Halinga Parish

Halinga ( until 1939 Hall Inga, German: Hallik or Hallick ) is an Estonian rural community in the north of the county of Pärnu.

Covering an area of 365 km ² live 3239 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2010). Center of the country parish, Pärnu - Jaagupi. It includes 43 additional villages: Aasa, Altküla, Anelema, Arase, Eametsa, Eense, Eerma, Narrow, Ertsma, Halinga, Helenurme, Kablima, Kaelase, Kangru, Kodesmaa, Kuninga, Langerma, Lehtmetsa, Lehu, Libatse, Loomse, Maima, Mõisaküla, Mäeküla, Naartse, eyelet, Pallika, Pereküla, Pitsalu, Pööravere, Roodi, Rukkiküla, Salu, Sepaküla, Soosalu, Sõõrike, Tarva, Tordu, Tühjasma, Vahenurme, Vakalepa, Valistre and Vee.

Worth seeing is the 1534 built St. James 's Church in Pärnu Jaagupi, one of the last Catholic sacral buildings in Estonia. The baroque pulpit from about 1660 written by the famous Danish woodcarver Elert Thiele, the altar of in 1794.
