Surju Parish
Surju ( German: Surri ) is an Estonian rural municipality in the district of Pärnu with an area of 357.9 km ². It was first mentioned in documents in 1544.
The rural community located 24 km from Pärnu and has 1015 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2006). In addition to the main town Surju it includes the villages Metsaääre, Jaamaküla, Lähkma, Saunametsa, Kikepera Kalda Ristiküla, Kõveri, Ilvese and Rabaküla. 78 % of the area is covered by forest.
Partner Municipality of Surju is Rusko in Finland ( since 1996).
