Saarde Parish

Saarde is an Estonian rural municipality in the district of Pärnu with an area of 707 km ². It lies about 40 km from Pärnu.

The rural municipality has 4350 inhabitants ( 2010). Main town is Kilingi - Nõmme. In addition to the larger settlement Tihemetsa the parish includes the villages Jäärja, Kalita, Kamali, Kanaküla, Kärsu, Laiksaare, Lanksaare, Leipste, Lodja, Marana, Marina, Mustla, Pihke, Reinu, Saarde, Sigaste, Tali, Tuuliku, Tolla, Veelikse, Viisireiu and Väljaküla.

In Saarde the nature reserves of Nigula, Sookuninga and Rongu lie. The largely undisturbed nature offers many opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing.
