Paikuse Parish

Paikuse ( German: Staelenhof ) is an Estonian rural municipality in the district of Pärnu with an area of 177 km ².

The rural municipality has 3021 inhabitants (1 January 2006). In addition to the main town Paikuse it includes the villages Põlendmaa, Seljametsa, Silla, and Tammuru Vaskrääma.

The economy is based on wood, peat and metal processing. In addition, increases tourism. Interesting are bog hikes and canoe trips on the Soomaa National Park and the Baltic German manor houses.

Partner municipalities of Paikuse are Mynämäe and Mietoiste in Finland and Łobez in Poland.
