Halltal is a municipality with 331 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district of Bruck an der Mur and in the political district of Bruck- Miirzzuschlag in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities Gußwerk, Mariazell and St. Sebastian, the new community will be called " Mariazell ".

Geography

Halltal is located in the homonymous valley east of Mariazell. Through the town flows the Salza. Near the Hall valley lies in the valley of the Hubertussee Walster.

The place name is a typical Hall Name of the salt.

Regional Policy

The municipality is part of the leader region Mariazellerland - Muerztal and a member of the Agenda 21 and the tourist region of Mariazell, the Styrian municipalities also Regionext small region form the name. At the municipal structural reform 2010-2015 Halltal is expected to merge with Mariazell.

The members of the community free ditch came on 4 August 1920, the Styrian dialect poet Martha Wölger, born Goldgruber to the world.
