Hans im Glück

The Hans im Glück is a Munich- based publisher of board and card games.

History

The Munich-based publishing house was founded in 1983 by Bernd Brunnhofer and Karl -Heinz Schmiel. The first games developed by hand in a garage workshop. 1987 rose Karl-Heinz Schmiel out from the publisher and the game publisher has been professionalized. Bernd Brunnhofer now bears sole responsibility as an editor and publisher.

After the Hans- im-Glück Games were represented twice on the list of game of the year in the 1980s ( Greyhounds by Bernd Brunnhofer 1986 and Maestro Rudi Hoffmann 1989) succeeded to the game Drunter & Drüber the breakthrough. The game by Klaus Teuber was named Game of the Year 1991. The Hans im Glück was the first small publisher to receive this award world's most important games. Today he is considered the most excellent game publisher. The biggest success so far is that published in 2000, million-selling tile-laying game Carcassonne.

Since 1993, the Hans- im-Glück program by the Berlin Games Publisher Blatz games, now under the label Schmidt Spiele occurs marketed.
