Hans Mock

Johann " Hans " Mock ( born December 9, 1906 in Vienna, † May 22, 1982 ) was an Austrian and German soccer player on the position of the defense and middle runner.

Career

John Mock began his career at FC Nicholson (later Vienna FC ) before he moved to Austria Wien in 1927. With the Violet the elegant and technically perfect center half could three times the Austrian Cup win (1933, 1935, 1936). Together with Karl Adamek, Karl Gall and Walter Nausch he formed the strong Austria midfielder formation of the 1930s and won at international level twice the Mitropacup (1933, 1936), the forerunner of today's European Cup.

Thanks to its strong performance in Austria Johann Mock was first called to the national team in the games against Czechoslovakia on 15 September 1929. Austria won at Premiere Mocks game 2-1. At the time of the legendary miracle team John Mock was an important part of the national team, played for example in the 5-0 win against Germany. However, had the classic center-half of the old Viennese School, in the face of competition from Josef Hofmann and Leopold Smistik satisfied in Wonderland team with the position of the right outer rotor. Until the annexation of Austria to the German Reich the defender completed a total of twelve games for the Austrian national team.
