The Samtgemeinde Harsefeld is located in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony in the southern part of the Stader Geest. It is run as an independent municipality since 1 January 2013.

The integrated municipality consists of the member communities Ahlerstedt Bargstedt, Brest and the spots Harsefeld.

History

The Samtgemeinde Harsefeld was established in 1972 as part of the Lower Saxon administrative and territorial reform of the above four member communities.

The Samtgemeinde Harsefeld wearing the same coat of arms as the community Harsefeld.

Blazon: " The coat of arms of the velvet municipality shows in white ( silver ) sign to the right a leaping black knight on a black horse with sword raised and has a blue shield main three yellow ( gold ) roses in the sign and two yellow ( gold ) roses. "
