Geography

Haundorf is located in the western region of Middle Franconia in the north of the Franconian Lake District. Directly to the north and west borders the forest monk forest, about one kilometers southwest is the Haundorfer pond, a swimming pond with campground.

History

Haundorf belonged to the Principality of Ansbach in 1792 acquired by Prussia and from 1500 to the Frankish Empire circle. As part of Ansbach Haundorf fell in the Treaty of Paris in 1806 by exchange to the Kingdom of Bavaria.
