Herrnschwende
Herrnschwende is a municipality in the district Sömmerda in Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community Kindelbrueck, which has its headquarters in the city Kindelbrueck.
Geography
Herrnschwende located in the Thuringian Basin, east of Greußen on the Black Freiburgische Helbe, as well as the neighboring village Nausiß, which is since 1951 part of the municipality.
History
The village was first mentioned in 1253 in a document.
Herrnschwende 1684 was affected by witch hunts. A man was caught in a witch trial.

By Nausiß, the bike path No.3, to the north over Frömmstedt after Bilzingsleben, south over Weissensee and Schallenburg after Alperstedt.
Culture and sights
The Church of St. Martin in Herrnschwende was built in the years 1749/50 and 1950 rebuilt, as is apparent from a stone panel above the church entrance.
