Riethgen
Riethgen is a municipality in the district Sömmerda in Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community Kindelbrueck, which has its headquarters in the city Kindelbrueck.
Geography
Riethgen located southeast of Kindelbrueck in the Thuringian basin.
History
For the first time the municipality in the year 786 was first mentioned in the nomenclature of goods of the abbey Hersfeld.
Today, the site of the former German - Order - Commende Griefstedt to Riethgen heard (History and the demolition of the castle and church see Griefstedt ).

The municipal council of Riethgen is composed of six members of a group together Free Voters (as of municipal elections of 27 June 2004).
Mayor
The honorary mayor Erich Steinicke was elected on 26 June 2004.

Others
During the Second World War, 29 men and women from Poland and Ukraine had to do forced labor in agriculture. Two forced laborers were able to escape.
